Who else is coming to Fibre Arts New Zealand in 2017?

Unfortunately Judy Martin is unable to come to Whanganui this year.

Fortunately Lisa Call is going to be there and will be teaching a workshop "Abstraction".

FIBRE ARTS NEW ZEALAND - WHANGANUI 23 - 28 April, 2017

Fibre Arts New Zealand creates events in Whanganui, at Ad Astra Hostel and Whanganui Girls College, 119 Anzac Parade, Whanganui, New Zealand.  The workshops are held every year in April for textile/fibre/mixed media artists and crafts people.

WORKSHOPS AND TUTORS

A Fibre Arts New Zealand event has a limited number of workshops, between 5 and 7, and will give you time to interact and get to know with all the participants and tutors.  All the tutors are well known experts in their own field.

The week is structured so you have five days with your tutor, and one free afternoon.  Most afternoons will give you the opportunity to hear all the tutors talk about their work and art practice.  In the evenings you can return to the classroom to work.

EXHIBITION AND MARKET

On Friday afternoon at 3.30 pm the public are invited to visit Ad Astra and view an exhibitiion of work produced during the week. This is an opportunity for you to have a stall and sell your work.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation and food is provided at Ad Astra Hostel.  The accommodation is in the hostel dormitories which have been modified to provide partitioned rooms for the students.  There is a motel just along from the hostel in Anzac Parade.

These exclusive events are not just about doing a workshop, they are about networking with other artists and crafts people, meeting old friends and making new friends.  They are for spending a week committed to your textile/fibre/mixed media passion and not having to cook or clean.  They are for breaking down any creative artist's block.
